Cambodia Gambling Dens
There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the border from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is not permitted. Eight casinos are situated in a relatively tiny location in the municipality of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent location, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gambling centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income accrued from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few controls constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be largely Thai; however, investment sources are cryptic. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 17:00, and though visas are supposedly required to pass, there are means around this, as is correct of most borders.
The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau casino, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling hall is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of 150 slot machines and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machine games and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and 66 of the normal gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around vacation and hotel compound that features a number of comforts on top of the gambling den, which offers 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machines and 88 gaming tables.
